    My experience with Blue Ox credit Union has been great. The staff are very polite and professional. All my banking needs have been met. What I really like about Blu Ox they really give you the chance to grow when it comes to loans, housing needs and just over all banking experiences. Great place in my opinion.. reach out and become a member you won’t be disappointed!!

    Think twice before joining. Depositors here are treated like cash cows - high fees charged for every little thing, including account-to-account transfers. Closing your account will cost you $25. They act like they are doing you a favor to take your money. I never should have joined.

    This place has gone down hill since they changed names/ownership. The staff are not only rude, but they act like they’ve never done this before. My parents had signed paperwork a year ago to have beneficiaries on their accounts. Instead of keeping the paperwork they got rid of it. My mom misplaced the paperwork and they only gave her a week to find it. Needless to say my dad’s money after he died is not ours. I can’t even pay bills anymore because the money gets taken out, then the company I pay my bills to will call and say it was taken back. When I look on my account the money will be gone. My mom mysteriously had over a hundred dollars taken from her account at one point to. Stealing money?? Very unprofessional. I used to trust this credit union, now idk if I can anymore.

    UPDATE: In the last 3 days both of our debit cards have been compromised. For the second time since we opened this account. For comparison, I've never had a fraudulent charge on a card in the entire 15 years I've been banking. Three in two years? Something seems fishy. Meh. In terms of modern banking it's an outdated, clunky place. I've gotten overdraft fees several times while there are thousands of dollars in my linked savings account. When I'm banking I want it to feel like I have something taken off my plate but here I feel like I have to be supervising my account constantly. I have memberships with three credit unions currently. Both of the other credit unions automatically draft funds from my linked savings for free so I never worry about the occasional forgotten bill. As a mom of 3 working more than full time, that is bound to happen periodically. BlueOx doesn't offer that option. They say they decline credit card charges if the account is negative, but then don't do that either. I haven't had time to switch all my automatic drafts or I'd have already left this institution. I came here because it was near my house but several fees later I regret it. American 1 is a better choice. I feel like I have a personal assistant there working on my behalf rather than having another hand out waiting to collect a fee. They should follow the lead of tons of other banks who understand the needs of the average family.

    Being in the customer focus line of work, IF a customer has had a bad experience, they will undeniably report the unpleasant experience to the management team and complain to everyone they know. But if any of us have experienced great customer service, we normally do not really make efforts to share it with the company.... or anyone else. Let us change that! I think if anyone goes above and beyond to be helpful or accommodating addressing our requested tasks, we should say a few words of appreciation for the service. I am writing this appreciation letter on behalf of my sons and myself for the recent experience with Blue Ox CU. We would like to extend our appreciation for the amazing work done by KYLIE BAUER, Branch Manager-Jackson Office. Kylie has taken the initiative to communicate before and after hours helping us with a few financing transactions regarding our vehicles. Kylie’s professionalism has impressed the us immensely and we consider ourselves honored to have a banking relationship with her.     I reached out to get information regarding an auto refinance. I provided my information and when asked if it was OK to run my credit I stopped the lady and said no I have more questions. I asked my questions and decided not to go through with a transaction. So you can imagine my surprise to get a letter in the mail from Blue Ox detailing my credit pull. Do you remember when I said no?! Seems like an excellent business practice to run someone’s credit score when they say NO!!!! Moral of the story, never provide ANY personal information until you have had all of your questions answered and decide you want to proceed!!

    My problems started in April 2021. I reviewed my itemized bill for my Visa Account and there were 3 fraudulent charges that had been made on my Visa Card. I realized that I would need to go to my local Blue Ox Credit Union which is Jackson, Michigan to get help. I was fortunate enough to have a brilliant cashier, Brooke Skowrorski. I hope I spelled her last name correctly. I showed her the Fraud Charges on my Visa Statement and I had highlighted them. Without any hesitation she took control of my problem. Brooke knew what needed to be done and exactly how to process this problem. Brooke immediately completed a Debit Dispute Form and we both reviewed the information for accuracy. She informed me it would probably be a few weeks for any feedback on retrieving my money back on my Visa Card. I was greatly relieved that Brooke was there to help me. She explained how the process worked and I felt very certain Brooke was experienced and had the training needed to get this problem solved. I felt Brooke had accomplished what needed to be done and I left feeling very relieved. Then one month later in May, reviewing my Visa and Checking Itemized Statement I found 3 more Fraudulent Charges, but this time it was on my Mastercard which is connected to my personal checking account. Again, I knew I needed to visit the Jackson Michigan Blue Ox Credit Union and I was hopeful that Brooke would be available to help me. Again, I was fortunate to discuss these new Fraud/Scam charges with Brooke and I had highlighted the mentioned Fraud/Scam amounts I was concerned with and again she knew what needed to be done and exactly how to process this new problem, this time on my Mastercard. In the meantime, the first Debit Dispute had been processed and all 3 Fraudulent Charges had been credited back to my Visa, THANK YOU BROOKE!!! The second Debit Dispute form is still pending concerning my Mastercard. I received a letter from the Charge Back Department in Tampa, Florida and they required me to complete a full explanation of the Fraud/Scam which I faxed to them on 6/3/2021 from Office Max. The outcome of the 2nd Debit Dispute continues to be investigated. Brooke ordered me a new supply of checks, transferred money from a separate Savings Account into my checking as the Fraud/Scam amounts on my checking account needed to be covered for my house payment to be made. Brooke is a very hard working individual and a very intelligent individual and I am totally impressed with her skills, confidentiality, her happiness to help, her smile, her joy in accomplishing what needs to be done. She is an absolute asset to the Blue Ox Credit Union Team. Brooke would be the person I would first think of promoting to a higher position within your financial institution. Brooke has it all.     The new ITMs are great. Very fast and much better than waiting in line inside. I only wish they would extend the hours to make it more convenient for the people who work 8a-5p. Maybe keep them available until 7pm or have Saturday hours available.

    I have banked with this company for decades. Back when they were United educational credit union they were great. They were understanding and caring if any issues popped up. That’s why for the two cars I have gotten loans for I naturally went to them. After blueox has taken over there has been nothing but problems. Over the last two years they have messed my auto payment up over 8 times. Some months They have pulled more money then they were suppose to, other months not enough. When I had two loans going they over pulled for one and under pulled the other leaving me 400 dollars behind on payments. The last time I had an issue Courtney in their collection department wouldn’t return any of my 4 phone voicemails I left her. After the 4th call I gave up trying to contact her. Monday I receive a call that my loan is 2 months behind. I wonder how that can be seeing I have auto pay and the money to cover the the note. Turns out they stoped auto payment two months ago and know one knows why. I was informed a Manager would call me back. After failing to hearing anything for days I call back today only to be told they would have to call me back tomorrow. I was not willing to accept a call back at this point and wanted a direct phone number to a manager. My failure to take a phone call back resulted in the representative I was speaking to hanging up on me. Please please save yourself a headache and pick a different credit union to do business with. This company know longer has the respect for its clients it once had.
