I am new in town. I was in last week to take care of some.business with my landlord that this credit union handles. I was pleasant, and cheerful. One of the tellers who helped me, a young woman, was really rude to me. Her attitude was all off and she never made eye contact with me while talking to me.. She acted like I was bothering her. I really don't want to go back there but I have to. Surely the credit union can get someone who can at least be polite to customers. If it happens again, I will file a complaint with the manager while I am there. Lastly, I will not open an account here, ever!!!

    Response from the owner

We are disappointed to hear you had an unpleasant experience. We pride ourselves on service to our members and visitors. We’re here to help, and we encourage you to ask to speak with the manager if you encounter an issue in the future. Thank you for your feedback!

I have been a member with this bank for over 30 years. My husband and I both have accounts here. We will be taking our money out and going to another bank. Do not have a joint account with someone that might overdraw themselves on another account because the bank will take the money. It doesn't matter if they are a kid. The bank shouldn't let them overdraw in the first place.

I just moved to Rapid city and was planning on opening an account here the beginning of next month. I went in to get a roll of quarters and they wouldn't do it. I will open my new account in a credit union that will. If they are that nasty about change, I won't deal with them.

Today I stopped by after work to deposit money. I was greeted rudely and abruptly. I've been coming here for a long time and I've always had a wonderful service but today was not the case. Google says says that on Saturdays the drive thru is open until 1:00 p.m.. I pulled in to the drive-through at 12:20 p.m.. Immediately the teller came on the screen saying " we are closed! you were not in line at noon and we have been trying to get out of here for 25 minutes you need to go use the machines on the side" I said "oh I'm sorry I didnt know. Google says 1pm" and she repeated herself "you can go use the machine" The online teller from the machine was super polite and saved the day.

    Response from the owner

Hi Summer! Sorry for the mixed experience and messages. I'm glad we were able to get you what you needed on a Saturday. Unfortunately, we can't put all the best details on Google because we have too many sets of hours but we felt it was best to show our longest hours so people know they can get teller services until 1:00 on Saturdays. Thank you for leaving a comment and review. Give us a call or stop back when you need us.

What bank doesn't have their bank locations open on Saturdays at least until 11 or 12 pm. Apparently this credit union thinks they are better than their customers. Did they ever think people work during the week and might have to do banking on their day off on weekends. They don't even have customer service phone line open on Saturdays. Another part of this credit union I didn't like was when I signed up for my account I couldn't type in my debit card pin myself. I had to tell it to the banker no very good privacy. I'll be closing my account on Monday.

    Response from the owner

3$ as a member to buy a money order that costs .89 cents at the store, told me they couldn't give me a secured loan for a car A SECURED LOAN meaning I pay them interest on my own money, told me if I close my account I could still be subject to overdraft fees, overdraft fees on a closed account! What's really going on at bhfcu

I had an issue several years ago (my fault) that caused the overdraft protection to be rescinded. Being a customer for more than 10 years I mistakenly assumed it could be reinstated. Not only was it not, but after several inquiries no one responded. No emails, no phone calls, nothing. I stopped in today to ask in person and was told the overdraft protection would not be reinstated. Fine. Until I added up the number of times the guy checked his smart watch. I'm leaving as soon as I make the changes to my direct deposits.

I had an account here since I was a kid and got my first loan paid off for my first car no problem. After going to college and not paying my student loans yet, but holding several jobs, and still having decent credit, I was denied any type of loan, even for one that I could afford. Not 3000 not 200. I closed the account that day after being there for almost 20 years. I don't want a response to this review, it's only for others to decide what bank they don't want to have to deal with.

I've been banking with bhfcu for a few years now and have gotten a few loans with them. Each one was over 1,000 and I payed each one off and on time. No late fees or anything of that sort. I got my final loan for my current vehicle and well that vehicle isn't running right now and I've also fallen onto a tough time so I tried to refinance to help me get it running. But they wouldn't allow it, they wouldn't even allow me the option to sell it back to them. They said if I were to sell it back to them that I would permanently lose my membership and my credit score would be badly affected. So one of the loan officers tried asking her higher ups if I could do the skip a pay option or get a quick draw account but they wouldn't even allow that. When those services are offered to all members! The lady who tried helping me was an absolute doll, she tried everything she could. It was just her higher ups that wouldn't allow any help. Finally one of the higher ups came out and told me to go to friends and family for help or go to a church. Making me feel worse than I already was. I just don't understand how they can deny me of a service they offer to all members and then basically tell me to go to a place of charity. I don't like complaining and I try to be very humble about every situation but this experience is still on my mind.

I really hate this bank.. They have one of the rudest teller there. She talks to me like I am something she scraped off her shoe. This has happened a few times and she continues. What a shame that they hire people like that. This is the WORST, it has some of the most dispicable humans I have ever encountered.
