The car dealer close them as a lender and since I was going to pay it off soon enough, I didn't mind them instead of my bank. I should have gotten a loan from my bank! I wasn't able to apply extra payments to only the principal but again, not a huge deal. Called to get the loan close out amount, paid over there phone and that part went fine. They assured me they would cancel my future recurring payments. Got my title. Then they took my loan payment from my bank account. Now they say it is up to me to stop by, I can use popmoney or come to a branch to get my money. Popmoney doesn't work on a loan account. So basically, their own folks don't know their internal policies and procedures.

I don’t remember my account number for our auto payment and they will not provide the information over the phone because of “fraud protection” but then will ask for my whole social, bank account number and routing number so I guess some how those things be aren’t at risk for fraud. I can’t wait to be done with this credit union, by far the worst decision we made was doing an auto loan with them. It wouldn’t let me reply to the businesses response, but we are moving out of VA and won’t be able to go into your branch so once again I will have to call and make each months payment and pay the fee every month because no one will give me my own access code.

This is the best Bank/Credit Union & gets 5 STARS across the board! Everything about this company is awesome! I've never been treated like a number here they remember your name & I always feel welcome. I have never encountered a bank that treats people like these wonderful folks. They've assisted me in building my credit and have Gone out of their way several times when they didn't have to! I'll never bank anywhere else even if I move across the country or across the world !

DO NOT get a loan with this bank! They have horrible customer service and lie and don’t do what you ask when they say they did. I previously had a car loan through this bank, and I traded vehicles so the car dealership was about to pay off the rest of the loan I had with BayPort, and I had an upcoming payment for the old loan that I had called to cancel (I didn’t need to make the payment because the car dealership was about to pay the balance off). I spoke with a woman on the phone who assured me she canceled the transaction and I would not have money coming out of my account. The next day, low and behold, the funds came out of my account anyways. When I called to get them transferred back, they said they could not transfer them back to my account, and that I would have to come in and withdraw them myself. I am active duty, and PCS’d from Virginia over a year ago, so I could not just up and travel all the way back to Virginia for this. They said the best they could do is put the funds in a savings account at BayPort and hopefully within 48 hours I could go to a Marine Federal Credit Union and withdraw the funds. This is ridiculous and poor customer service, I wish I would have taken down the female’s name that I spoke with so I could formally report her. DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE!!!

The worst experience I've ever had with any bank. Customer service is terrible the people are so rude and you're always on hold forever. Got a car loan through them and my insurance company sent them a check when the car got flooded out. But they still added $1500 to my loan bcuz they claimed i had no proof of insurance even though they told me I didn't need it the week before. All of this wouldn't have been so bad if they weren't so rude and inconsistent about the whole thing. I'll never bank this terrible business again!

First of all, they repossessed a car belonging to my wife without any notice. No email, call, or letter sent in the mail that a payment was due. She checked every day and nothing. They repossessed the car one day without a single word which is also highly illegal. Even afterwards they never sent anything in the mail for where the car was or what happened or if we could do anything. No but once we found out we were given terrible customer service and complete hostility. So now we're trying to get the things that were left in the car that they took without a damn word and found out they took it almost two hours away from our location and they have very important legal documents including my birth certificate. I will get a lawyer if I drive up there and they end up discarding our belongings. Do not do anything with this incompetent shady company

We went here to try and refinance my girlfriends car because she got a pretty high interest rate on her current loan with another lender and even tho she has good credit, no debt, and never missed any payments they said they can't refinance the loan because the car is worth $15000 and she owes $17000.... So we called Langley federal and got approved by them right away for a 3% interest rate loan which is way better than the rate she had been paying... I would say don't waste your time with bayport and just go straight to Langley federal.
