I've been with this credit union for about 25 years now. Possibly more. The staff is pleasant and excellent. I have never, ever had an issue with staff. Since this is a local credit union, it seems their system goes down quite frequently. I've had multiple situations where I needed to take out cash and their system was down. Also, the website they have in replacement of an app is ancient and archaic. Been using it for 10 years at least and it hasn't changed. I think there is an actual banking app but it is literally unusable and not user friendly. Hopefully this merger will update Baker's overall technology. They are way behind modern banking when it comes to convenience. I have had more success using a strictly online bank that I won't name here. Unfortunately there are much better options out there.

We’ve been with them a year and a half and we like them very much. Jolene has been helpful to us.

Absolutely a terrible place to bank. You can never make a purchase above a certain limit, you have to call every time. They never have any answers for your questions. They take money from your other accounts (such as a savings) to cover something (that the money was in there for prior). They don't ask your permission if it is ok to do so either. Never will I ever bank with this bank. I had to give them a one store or you couldn't post a review.

My father uses this credit union but hates it. he had so many problems getting his card and pin worked out- multiple calls and visits. And my husband never got his worked out. when he opened the account 2.5 years ago he had 60 bucks. he never got his pin for his card so he never used the account. then they started taking fees... so they've been slowly withdrawing money from that 60 ever since. and he just doesn't have the patience to argue with these people. they operate in the dark ages. their methods are archaic. everything is by snail mail and nothing is easy. no one has a record of what went out and when -

I’ve both refinanced a vehicle with Baker and had a personal loan with them. Jolene (phillipsburg location) in the loan department has always been great to work with. She has processed both loans quickly and saved me a ton of money with better interest rates. So much so, I’m in the process of refinancing another vehicle with them. My only regret is not going to them for financing in the first place. I won’t make this Mistake again. Other reviews mentioned them adding on Disability, unemployment and other insurances to the loan. These have always been offered to me as an option, they have never just been added on to any of my loans. Another great thing about Baker that most traditional banks don’t offer is “ skip a pay” where during the holidays and other times you can apply to skip a month or 2 of loan payments.

When I met my husband we moved my account to IRCO and when we did I realized they were charging me high interest and also added on extra insurances onto my loan without telling me my payment without it. I should have been more careful and read my contracts better but I trusted them. I have good credit too. Live and learn.

If I could give this bank .5 stars we would, sad to say. We opened 2 business accounts over 2 years ago and went from a stellar experience great service to a nightmare! The following was evidenced: one bounced check as an obvious mistake from very bad eyesight as we had one signor not having their glasses on and wrote the wrong check from another acct with the same color checks - they closed our acct and claiming we were indeed fraudulent ( we are a SCHOOL with fingerprinting and high profile of accountability) and also then writing us off as well to Chex -Systems on same (can you believe this! ). No one of us have ever had this kind of unprofessional experience as we have with a bank before this. Also being told by one of the tellers in the Washington branch to go out and "buy a new computer" after calling them multiple times and asking them why is their online service not compatible with Chrome- getting a response and snarky comment like that is totally unprofessional and not appreciated. Also have a MAC machine that does not take DEPOSITS and you have to get a late fee over the weekend if you cannot make the payment by that weekend for some reason. Found that out as well. Also yelling in the Pburg branch out to other customers your personal information and account history- that's a major violation there as well of privacy law. Ok, I hope that's enough for you the reader to avoid this bank like the plague. If not, you didn't heed the warning. Oops, forgot one more thing- an employee selling their own car with a tear off and taking the highest bidder from the customers on a car that you cannot test drive first and was sitting in the parking lot for over 4-5 months as a junker.
We are very glad that you are pleased with the staff and service at our credit union!

.75¢ to use ANY other ATM besides the 2 Baker site ones and they just increased their already high overdraft fee to 45$. My debit card and checking account are declined routinely for unknown reasons and inaccessible to check ledger/balance (worst as I stood at Toyota on Hecktown picking up after a repair at 630p with no way to contact them!) more often than they're 'on'. I switched to Baker about a year ago to support local business....big mistake! Buh bye... Fast forward 4/17/18, attempted transfer from Baker to another acct. A phone app I used from the other bank made the transfer amount appear twice, seconds apart, for the same amount, and immediately irreversible. Baker whacks me with a 45.00 overdraft fee. I explain it was an obvious phone app error and NOT a true overdraft...no debit or check transaction... and that they should refund my 45.00. Their acct mgr decided 25.00 was 'fair'. How? Explain why you deserve to steal 20.00 of my money for an app error! Re: the response concerning ATM fees, you're way behind the times, which I think is the general problem at Baker. NOBODY worth the business charges ATM fees anymore at out of network ATM.
We strive to maintain very low out-of-network ATM fees. At $0.75 per transaction, the fee is considerably lower than the national average of $4.69 for use of an out-of-network ATM according to a survey conducted by bankrate.com. In order to offset the low ATM fees and other fees that banks charge that we don’t, our overdraft fee is a bit higher than average. We are sorry that your debit card and checking account was declined routinely. Did you speak to anyone at the credit union to let them help resolve this issue for you? We would like to resolve the issues that you are having with your debit card. Please contact us if you continue to have trouble with it.

Bill Hav sold my daughter a car from Phillipsburg Honda and Baker Credit Union Financed it. Only to find out later that they put all kinds of add ons that she didn't know about like unemployment insurances and GAP Insurances. Be careful who you trust because the car salesman we expected to rip her off, the credit union we didn't.

I bought my car from Bill Hav Honda and he said they would refinance my car but Baker said the value isn't enough? It's a Honda and my credit is fine. Don't waste you're time here.
We apologize that you were misinformed by Bill Hav of Phillipsburg-Easton Honda, with whom we have no affiliation. Unfortunately, the loan amount exceeded the value of the vehicle by too much and, therefore, refinancing the loan was not an option due to the fact that Credit Unions and other financial institutions must comply with the Truth In Lending Act and car dealerships do not. Your creditworthiness was not an issue, only the value of the vehicle that was sold to you.
