I am glad I went with Aurora. I got the lowest rate I could find anywhere and I closed on time without any big headaches. There were no surprise fees during the process. Everything went according to plan. My loan officer was Nick Odle and I’d recommend him as well. Very pleased.

I was very impressed with the regular and extremely professional and pleasant communication from William and Manier. This was our first home buying experience so we don't have much to compare it to, but right off the bat, Aurora had the best rates and we had friends and other lenders tell us to go for it while it was an option (note: rates increased everywhere shortly after William locked our great rate in and he worked quickly to make that happen). The process of providing documentation was... rough, but Manier was professional, consideration, understanding, and clear the entire way through. We were prepared for the first few rounds and felt quite proud of ourselves, so our frustrations with the process were mainly because we just didn't know what we didn't know, but again, Manier was excellent with her consistently clear communication. I gave 4 stars because their online portal for uploading documents could be better. After you upload a document and it is accepted, there's no way to see a history of what you've submitted. That would have been nice a few times when I couldn't remember if I submitted a document or not, or which version, etc. It was a difficult process (it became a small, part-time job for me some days!), but if you are prepared to do a lot of digging into your financial past, Aurora - particularly Manier - was wonderfully calm, polite, and supportive the whole way through and for that, we are thankful.

I am an attorney and my wife is a busy senior executive at a large publically traded company. Very recently, we purchased a home in Southlake, Texas and used Aurora Financial for the loan. While I was initially skeptical about using a lender thousands of miles away from our locale, Aurora Financial quickly put my fears to rest. Marzetta Hamilton (the loan processor) and Louis Therot (the loan officer) were a pleasure to work with and were highly professional in all respects. In the end, the loan closed on time as promised and, more importantly, without any last minute suprises. In short, I highly, highly recommend Aurora Financial.

They offer lower rates to lure me but were not able to close in time. After that, I had no choice but to go to other lender who closed on time. Beware of their on-time closing guarantee of $1000. It was not honored after they failed to close. I did file a complaint with Better Business Bureau (BBB) as well regarding the same. MY advice would be to find other lender and avoid them. Before the 2007 crisis, they were very active in the sub-prime mortgage and now then are back again but the culture at the company doesn't seem to change. Misleading and false advertising are Aurora's vision that they truly believe in and customer comes at last.
