To whom it may concern, As a customer of 2 years, I've advocated positively of this bank to many people and always enjoyed the small size and intimate feel of Atlantic Federal credit Union. Unfortunately, i just had a terrible experience. I'm referring to the 455 Prospect Ave, West Orange NJ 07052 branch on 3/2/2022 between 4:40-4:50pm. As I walked in I immediately felt the tension between the teller and an older age woman. I filled out my withdrawal slip approached the teller's desk and had a horrible experience from there. I wasn't greeted, and overheard the young woman who was supposed to be station there express her frustration to her colleagues . Finally once we begin to attempt the transaction, I was treated in a disgusting manner; simply for not having all my credentials. I was spoken to in a deeply condescending tone, disregarded and humiliated by her 'waving-off' hand gestures. She stated phrases such as- "What does that lady think I'm dumb, no you are"- "I'm going to just stand over here since he's taking forever" - "well you should've known that if you bank with us," - "Oh, most people carry around an I.D." Once I had enough of the disrespect I told her I would mention this to her supervisor; the supervisor then approaches and say's she doesn't see anything wrong. After I was continually treated nastily by both, I decided to leave. Sure the banking industry comes with stress and other difficulties but this was totally unacceptable. I'm here to inform you, your company's West Orange NJ branch lacks the professional and has a sever flaw in Supervision and the training of staff. I would suggest you look into these matters immediately because I would hate to close my account. looking forward to hearing from you

I'v been a member with AFCU since 2015. AFCU helped me understanding the ins and outs of financing, knowing the difference between different accounts and sooooo much more! I've even setup accounts for my daughter with them. I recommend families having a credit union bank to invest in. The APR rates are lowers than most commercial banks and they offer more for families, college student and new grads❤️

Every other bank has had their lobbies open for months now. What exactly are you waiting for? Just drove one of your customers over and the wait outside is always very lengthy.

Appointments for member services are no longer required, but are still available so that the interaction on arrival can be seamless and in order to ensure a positive member experience. Any line you may have seen would have been for members who prefer to use the ATM or drive-thru for their transactions. Please feel free to visit the branch lobby during business hours so that we may assist you.

Been banking with them for over 10 years. Both the west orange and Newark branch are great, I never had a problem. They work with you to build financial success and help with your credit scores. They’re much better than any bank!

Dishonest people, Ausberto Colon is a supervisor in their collection department. I had to deal with him once due to the lack of communication with the credit union when my car was totaled. I had the car loan with them for 3 plus years and when it was totaled my insurance paid off the majority of the loan. I had a balance left for 800 bucks but was told by the loan department my GAP insurance would cover that. That didn’t happen but I only found out because I called them. Mind it I never!! Had any late payments. Due to me thinking that gap was covering the balance as mentioned by the loan department which ended up not happening. I made arrangements and paid the loan balance in full. The next credit cycle these dishonest people placed a late payment on my credit report. Outrageous. I disputed it and keep in mind never been late and they barely communicated with me when the car was totaled I had to make all the calls to find things out. Had they done their jobs and let me know promptly that the gap coverage was denied I would have paid them off no problem. That was explained with Ausberto Colon who stated on the reason he isn’t going to change that late payment is because of the timeline he was given about the gap which was false!! Now I’m going to have to get in touch with a MANAGER because this guy doesn’t check facts and thinks everything is black and white with the loan department. Their phone calls are recorded and that’s all he needed to check, all the facts and date are on them. He decided to go by the false paperwork stating my gap coverage responded to them in 5 days. I never got a call about that I had to call them and inquire because I saw the balance still reflecting on my account. Plenty of time had gone by. Been a loyal member for years and they won’t even make a necessary change with that false reporting to the credit bureau given the circumstances. They’re a few more details that are compelling. But this is absolutely disgusting, that I've been a member for a long time and never had any late payments on any account and this was clearly their fault and they decided not to own it like decent humans. That Ausberto Colon guy Is very dishonest. To make matters worse they removed the late payment from my credit report (transunion) then placed it back on my credit the following cycle. I tried to get in touch with a manager and of course they're giving me the run around. Very nasty. STAY AWAY!!!

I hate giving negative reviews but, OMG the ATM is always out of service!!!!!! Like just update to a new ATM!!!!!

Apply for a loan to build credit never even touched the money put it in a bank account and use it to pay back the loan my credit score was low 500. Payed the loan off in 4 months never late I also have 2 credit card for 7 months that have $500 limit and about 15 percent of the balance used. my score went up to 670 my income went from 60000 a year 65000 no additional debt I apply for another $500 loan didn't need the money just was using the loans to build my credit I was denied the loan when I asked why I was told I shouldn't have gotten the first one didn't bother to argue their loss not mine they would have gotten a little interest from me and even a bigger interest in the future I'm building my credit to buy a house. all I can say is WOW. If my review was based on the tellers in the bank it would be a 5 🌟

I went to both locations an FB guess what? Neither ATM works Inconvenient and terrible You can never do both on the same day. deposit or withdrawal

Staff Nice but Atm is always having technical issues like everyother week some times 5 weeks in a row Atm down Again " takes money but cant give money 🤨 Internal Atm now working 💃so they get 4 stars now since that was my main issue as soon as the external one stars working its 5stars come on AFCU u can do it back to 2 stars Atm went down again . ATM WORKING AGAIN KEEPING MY FINGERS CROSSED TO STARS GOING UP⬆️ we working towards 5 stars. AFCU so far its Atm is working great i think 4 stars will be good now 🤞we aiming for 5
