I would like to start by saying that ABL is actually a great company. They seem to have processes & systems in place, which are signs of a good business operation. If my review was about their operations I would had given a 5 star. However , this is about their customer service and how poorly they treat new business. I'll start by saying that my experience could potentially be a one-off for the company... but if it's not, you should consider my advise & consider other lenders before calling ABL. What happen to me: I've been receiving ABL marketing campaign for some time now & decided to give them a call to learn more about their products and terms. As an active investor & syndicator it's always a great idea to add new lenders to your database to ensure you get the best terms possible when needed. When I called in, I asked for Zak who had been the contact in the marketing pieces I have been receiving. The receptionist made me aware that Zak was out for the remainder of the year but he could connect me with Susan who was the VP of sales. I said "please do". I was places on hold for 4 minutes , till Susan finally picked up. (I didn't mind waiting 4 min, I understand things happen) Before greeting me, Susan assertively told me and I quote: " Hi , I don't have much time to speak with you because I have another borrower who's of higher priority. So I have about 3 minutes, to talk to you what's up?" Now, I'm not sure if letting a potential borrower know that his call & business is "not a priority" part of their customer service experience - but I surely did not appreciate it. It made me feel belittle & under valued as a customer. He tone made it been as if ABL has enough business to go around & could care less if they get any new business or not. After hearing Susan's "greeting," I was really offended & disinterested from giving them my business. So I politely told her, I would call back another day (One that may never come). I have worked with many HML and will continue to do so... but Have never been made to feel like my business was not important enough. In my opinion, I believe a HML should treat every customer with high priority as they are the lifeline of the business...However, this standard practice would not matter to a company who feels they don't need any new business or are too big for newcomers. With that said- if you have done business with ABL and had a great experience. Please continue to do so. But if your a new borrower, I would suggest calling another HML who actually appreciates your business

We certainly pride ourselves on being constantly accessible to our borrowers, as the hundreds of 5 star verified reviews on our website will confirm. I discussed this matter with Susan, and her understanding of the call was that she informed you right from the start that she had a scheduled call with a borrower in just a couple minutes, so as to not have to interrupt a longer conversation you may have wanted to have. As I'm sure you can understand, missing a scheduled appointment with another borrower would be pretty insulting and make them feel like they're not a priority either. She could have simply asked someone to take a message for her to call you back, but she decided to see if she could quickly start the conversation with you in-between meetings instead. If we are able to get past this misunderstanding, our team is here to help. One of the worst experiences I have ever had. Their communication is poor and literally wait to the last second to discuss anything. If you use them be prepared to do the work they are supposed to be doing!

Horrible communication. They take days/weeks to respond to emails and sometimes completely ghost you. I talked to Scott Davis and he either doesn't respond to emails in a timely manner or just doesn't respond at all. I don't know if this is just their company culture or they are grossly understaffed. I think the latter is true. I have worked with many lenders and bankers in the past, and I have never had this level of unprofessionalism, where I have to follow up with them instead of the other way around..Definitely never doing business with these guys. I absolutely hate lack of clear lines of communication.

As a former mortgage broker, ABL did not protect my business and completely stole one of my most prolific clients from me. Their response when informed of such was: so what? We are bigger than you, what are you going to do about it. To this day, and as a Direct Lender now, this is the exact opposite of how we treat our brokers. Still disappointed about the professionalism of the top tier of ABL, Paul and Kevin specifically. I brought them a lot of business, and they still stole a client. Brokers beware.

I work for an appraisal company, and we've done business with them in the past. It was a positive experience, as they're very organized and pay attention to detail. Their borrowers were overall very satisfied with them. It should be noted that ABL One is valuable to the smaller builders who don't have the resources of say a Lennar or GLHomes. These builders employ others in our local economy, but the large banks don't support them. South Florida has opportunities, but getting financing for one new home at a time, can be very difficult. It should also be noted that many of the smaller builders here are also minorities and we appreciate from a community view, ABL One's presence in our market and its diversity. The market prospers with small local business being supported by the services of ABL One. There really is a trickle down economy, and we see it at work at Campbell Appraisal, as well as with the best of our lender clients, financing home building and sales / refinancing in south Florida.
