The customer service at Amplify Credit Union in general is pathetic. I am not referring to the employees, who are very customer oriented. I am speaking of the availability. What use to be 5 branches to service customers has turned into 2 branches in Austin. None in Cedar Park and Round Rock. Today I had to drive 30 miles round trip from Round Rock to the Pond Springs branch just to get cash for vacation. (and this at $5 a gallon gas). Please don't tell me to use an ATM machine when I want a significant amount of cash in several denominations. Other banks in my area are not closing branches like Amplify. After my vacation I will open accounts with A+ Credit Union and move most of my money there for the convenience of banking face to face when I absolutely need that capability.

    Response from the owner

Hi Jeff! We appreciate you sharing some of your frustrations with us. Like a lot of organizations around Austin, we are still experiencing some staffing issues and are focused on onboarding and training new team members at our Pond Springs and Esperanza locations. We hope to have both our Cedar Park and Round Rock locations back to full speed again soon. If it helps, check out our full updates about those branches at https://goampli.fyi/closings.

This bank is absolutely ridiculous. They closed down most of their branches almost 2 years ago because of Covid... And have literally stopped serving their customers. Every other bank is up and running, but this bank has not. They have been clandestine about when they will fully reopen. They have not told their customers the plan. It is a credit union so you'd figure they'd be more forthcoming. They aren't even following CDC guidelines!!!! This morning, I was forced to wait in the cold 10 minutes because they only slide 3 people in their branch at a time. Schools are open restaurants are open, other banks are open, but amplify is literally leaving their customers in the cold. I have been a customer for years and it is really disappointing to see a good bank go bad.

Hi Bruce! Earlier today, our Chief Experience Officer shared an important update on some of the challenges we've faced in our branches. We hope that piece of transparency will address some of the questions you had in your review. You can read the full statement at www.goamplify.com/cxo.

I always enjoy my visits to the La Frontera branch. The staff is so friendly, and willing to chat if there are no other customers waiting. Makes for a great experience.

    Response from the owner

Thanks so much, Jeffrey! We shared your review with the La Frontera team, and they were so appreciative of what you had to say. One might even say you helped their days be merry and bright!

Have used Amplify Credit Union for a little over 7 years now. The employees are incredibly nice, this location is very clean and has a friendly atmosphere. Can get cards replaced easily if something happens to them, they offer water and provide great service. We have gotten multiple loans through them, and the process is steady and straightforward. Never had an issue with hidden fees (Part of why I left my previous bank before coming to them.) About 4 years ago I started at a company that they partner with, and I can say that working with them on the back end is just as good as working with them on the front end. I don't plan on ever moving my money elsewhere if I can avoid it.

    Response from the owner

Hi Andrew! We appreciate you taking the time to leave such kind words about your time with us. On behalf of the entire Amplify staff, we look forward to continue to provide you a great member experience!

Terrible bank, so unprofessional during this covid period. Still locking their doors, still have to call to make appts, still waiting on hold for countless mins. Seems as tho they don’t mind losing customers or servicing customers right way. It’s embarrassing to be running a business that isn’t even being ran appropriately.

    Response from the owner

Hi Mel – thank you for reaching out! You'll be pleased to learn we have lifted the restriction of in-person appointments at our branches effective May 3, 2021, so there is no longer a need to schedule an appointment at any Amplify location. That said, we are still maintaining limited capacity in our lobbies, so our members may be asked to queue outside as part of our safety protocols.

NEVER get an account here, they have the worst service. I thought Chase was hard to work with and trust. NOW I know what bad is, I got scammed and paid with a bad check, cashiers check, they took it. I called to ask if it cleared and they told me it did. Once this happened over 5 days later it bounced and they are making me pay for the total lose of funds. Before all this happened I had great credit and 100 track of paying my bills. They have ruined that for me and also they have no grace periods. They are now threatening me that they are going close my account and credit. Making it impossible to open another account or even keep my house or anything I worked for. Moral do not believe them when they say they will help or protect you from things like this. This is why we moved from banks and now I have one regret, choosing Amplify.

    Response from the owner

Hello - Thank you for contacting us about your concerns. We're so sorry about your recent experience and assure you that we take fraud very seriously at Amplify. During further review it was determined that we were able to recover a portion of the checks involved in the scam and credited the funds back to your account on March 5, 2018. If you have additional questions or concerns you’d like to discuss please contact April. H at 512-836-5901

Called 3 time to check on payoff balance on auto loan, all CS member verberalized it was paid off and will get title in few weeks,. Finally called them after car was paid off in 2/18 Two months later to check on status, CS states I owed them a check for .55cents to release my title. That is why I am no longer banking after 25 years lack of customer service and commitment to customers!!!

    Response from the owner

I've been a member since 1986. When I joined it was called the IBM Federal Credit Union. It's been an excellent credit union for all these years. The employees are all knowledgeable, very friendly, and efficient. In my opinion it's the best credit union in Texas!

Never open or their machines don’t work and there is no way to contact them directly. Expect to waste an hour of your time and still not get your transaction done.

    Response from the owner

Hi Ashley! As part of our ongoing COVID-19 response, we have restricted visits to our La Frontera branch to by appointment only. We encourage you to call our La Frontera branch directly at (512) 874-7105 to schedule an appointment with our team and cut down on your wait time.
