I went to the credit union this morning. They were servicing the ATMs so I had to ho through the drive thru. It took an inordinately long time. All I was doing was withdrawing a small amount of money from savings. The teller comes back and says she is sorry it took so long but it took so long because I need to get my dead husband off my account. It has only been eight months and I know I need to get him off but I need to leave him on there until everything is settled .She was blunt to the point of both rude and demeaning. She needs some grief and loss training. Please. If I can't been a customer for decades, I would have closed my account right then.

#americaworst They don’t show you your current available balance with every transaction, so unless you have a check register and are closely monitoring your transactions, they could be blindly stealing from you and you wouldn’t even know it. Deposited money into their ATM once and it ate my cash. ATM shut down and had to wait the next day in order to get my money back. The manager spoke to me as if I was incompetent and completely dumb because of their technology issues. Just because I’m young does not mean you can be disrespectful. Don’t bank with this credit union.

Loved our service today. They were very kind and quick. They listened carefully and we enjoyed their service. Talked with Cass, and was very impressed with the customer service.

I applied for a checking and savings account online. I received a call a couple of days later informing me that I was approved. I was told to to the local branch with my ID to sign the paperwork and finish the process. The tellers and loan officer were very friendly and nice. However, something that should have taken 10 to 15 minutes took nearly an hour. The loan officer made me do the process, which I completed and was approved online, over again and it was rejected because they already had a pending request open for me. Then I was told to go to the teller and make a payment on the new account. When I was done, I was told to sit in the waiting area and they would bring me my new card. I made the payment, sat down where I was told, and waited, and waited, and waited. People who had arrived long after me were getting their cards but I wasn't. There was a long line at the tellers and all the loan officers were with customers. Finally a young man came out to give another guy his card (he came in after me) and asked me if I had been helped. I gave him my name and said I was told to wait here for my card. He said someone told him I had left. What?!?!?!? He apologized and I could tell he was not happy that this had happened and neither was I. Ridiculous! Everyone is very nice but they need to be trained better or they need a different system for shuffling people between the Loan Officers and Tellers. I specifically filled out all my information online so I wouldn't have to spend a lot of time at the bank... especially now with Covid 19 being spread all over. To make matters worse, I have to wait 30 days to make mobile deposits to my account so if I want to put money in my account I have to return to the branch. So stupid! I've had experiences with 2 other branches in two different counties and they are just as bad.

I recently moved my accounts to America First. Needless to say I am very impressed! The staff are very kind and patient. Corey, I believe that is his name, was extremely helpful today. Any questions I have were answered throughly. I am so glad I switched banks!

If you’re looking to do the wedding resgistry account - just don’t. If I could give them zero stars I would. Instead of a traditional registry we opted for the bank account. We had many guests tell us they deposited money into it, and after the wedding went to the bank to make a withdrawal, and they told us the account was closed due to nothing being in it. A month later my husband followed up with them and went to the bigger managers — they said they can see there’s money in limbo, but can’t see how much and can’t get it to us. Way to screw over a newly married couple AFCU. You’ve lost our business.

If you would have asked me several days ago, I would have given AFCU 5 stars. I've been banking with them since 2008. The reason I give 2 stars is for my most recent experience, one that has made me decide to pull all of my funds and switch to a new institution. Due to a security issue at a retailer, America First deactivated my cards (credit & debit) and deactivated my PIN. Shortly after I had received a letter in the mail indicating that my credentials had been deactivated due to a security issue and that I would receive new cards and PIN in the next 3-5 days. Now I am aware of a security issue, but I'm locked out of my mobile banking. To get into my mobile banking I had to spend 15 minutes on the phone with customer support, a little inconvenient but no big deal. I had received my cards nearly 3 weeks later. Still no PIN. A week later I find myself at the Utah Arts Festival, a cash only event with ATM's all over the place. Unfortunately I didn't have the foresight to stop at the bank to withdraw funds in person earlier that day. Having ATM's near, lots of things I'd like to spend my money on and not having access to my funds was absolutely infuriating. Still, I was willing to give AFCU the benefit of the doubt, I have always had good experiences with them in the past. The next Monday, I went into the Provo branch hoping to retrieve my PIN. I was told by the teller that my PIN had been lost in the mail and it would be ANOTHER 5-7 business days before my new PIN would arrive (on top of the several weeks I had already waited). Phone support had the same flippant response, "nothing we can do". To this point I have been 1) told of a security leak AFTER having my credentials locked, 2) prevented from accessing my funds when they should have been available to me, 3) told of a 2ND security leak (losing my PIN) and 4) told to wait in excess of a month (total) to finally receive a new PIN. Honestly I would have been ok with the (2) security leaks had the whole security breach been handled differently. The issue has been an absolute calamity. I would have honestly preferred that the bank take no action, communicate the security breach to me and allow me to update my cards and PIN at my discretion. Locking me out of my mobile banking and locking me out of my own funds is completely unacceptable.

This is for America First as a whole, not this location. When I was in a car accident, they refused to work with my GAP insurance, and wouldn't send them verification of the title. Because the GAP insurance wasn't sure where the title was, they wouldn't pay off the loan. This went on for several months until my credit was damaged, I accrued hundreds of dollars in interest, and all I needed was for them to send a simple letter stating they had the title. I've since left and got most of my family to leave as well.

AFCU is a great credit union. They've always had great customer service when I've been there. I have an auto loan through them and it's been a breeze. The guy who complained about high fees and a repo....really?? Learn to pay your bills on time and stop whining about high hard real life is. Shame a great bank had to eat the cost of taking the risk to lend to someone like you.

Great friendly service. But make sure to record your conversations and get documented proof of services sold because unless you can nail them with evidence, they have no customer service to trust you with your experience. Bad experience? Well we're sorry. We're not going to do anything about it. Doesn't that "sorry" feel nice?
