The team at Abound CU were extremely helpful with consolidating my debt and helping me set up myself for financial success! Nilsa was extremely patient and did her best to get me the help I needed! Moved to E town from Texas and have nothing but good things to say about banking with Abound!

    Response from the owner

Taylor, thank you so much for taking the time to share you success story with us. Nilsa is a rock star and we will make sure she sees your kind words. Congrats on your debt consolidation. We sincerely appreciate the 5 stars!

Have had my account with them for close to two decades cannot get a loan, long wait times, etc etc. i have only stayed out of convenience but today was the last straw. I have been cashing my insurance checks through them since last October due to a car accident my husband was in. We have had no problem cashing the checks until TODAY. I guess they didn’t realize they have BEEN cashing the checks since the last year. I will be there in the morning clearing out my account and heading ANYWHERE else but here.

    Response from the owner

Why is my bank emailing me for wellness checks? Gearing up for social credit scores? And why are they pushing the covid drug at these checks? Gearing up for depop? Not a good look.

    Response from the owner

Hi Grace! Abound provides several opportunities and events for neighbors in our communities. One way is by partnering with other community organizations who are passionate about healthy living. To us, healthy living is more than physical and mental, as we find financial health to be a big contributor to living an overall healthy life. We have partnered with Baptist Health Hardin to offer FREE wellness screenings (at six locations, now through October) as a way of giving back to our community and providing a convenient offering to Members who may live near these branches. This isn't a push, it's simply a way to show our care and support for our neighbors. We also are inviting our community to sit down with us to see if we can help find relief or provide mentorship to one's financial situation. Again, this is an OFFERING we are sharing with Members, not a "push" or requirement. Baptist Health Hardin offers a variety of services while they're visiting, and we simply highlighted each of those in our emails and flyers. We're proud of our community partnerships and will continue to share these with our Members, as perks. Some Members find these beneficial to their specific situation, while others don't. We will continue to find innovative ways to improve financial education across Kentucky. Thanks for your feedback!

The Dixie branch of Abound credit union is nothing but wonderful. People greet you at the minute you walk in the door and treat you like you’re the most important customer of the entire business. Manager Michelle and her crew truly go above and beyond to make every transaction easy and pleasant

    Response from the owner

I’ve been at this credit union for 24 years. They have never given me a loan for a truck or anything. They told me my job is unreliable . I’m a roofer. And their atms are completely antiquated. Instead of taking cash immediately they have it placed in an envelope to be counted later by a person. Making your deposit unless until the following business day.

    Response from the owner

Tony, we want to learn more about your situation. We are unique, in ways that we can provide lending, through the knowledge of our local loan experts. We're eager to connect with you and see how we can work through this together. We also want to uncover more convenient options for your deposits. We will be in contact with you. Thank you!

Doing business with Abound has been absolutely hilarious for all the wrong reasons. I obtained a loan from them a while back and the process was a complete incoherent nightmare. You'll talk to countless individuals who all tell you different things. The hold times are unreal and the assistance provided via phone is abysmal. Do not get a loan of any kind through these people unless you find it amusing to constantly get the run around. I couldn't help but laugh at the situation I was put in for simply applying for a loan. It was like they had no interest in helping me complete the process. I finally got someone who took care of it but that's only half the battle. Their website and mobile app don't function very well and I'm still uncertain aside from going into the building every month, how I can pay this bill via the internet. Trust the reviews, this place is downright odd. I'm paying off my loan and I'm out.

    Response from the owner

Scott, we are sorry to hear of these difficulties. We would like to speak with you to learn more about your experience, in hopes of better serving you in the future. While we hesitate to ask for personal information in a public forum, if you could send us a secure message via Online or Mobile banking or could contact your local branch manager, our leadership team would be happy to give you a call to discuss. We can also be reached at 800.285.5669 - please provide full name, contact number and reference this review when you reach out. Thank you!

Worst wait times I have ever experienced at any business... literally no one was even in line and I still had to wait 15 minutes... (did I mention there wasn't even anyone else in line. Great rates on loans, but this place has never had good customer service. They unfortunately do not have the leadership to fix this problem that they are fully aware of since their beginning.

    Response from the owner

Jason, we are sorry about the wait you experienced at our branch. We want to learn more about your situation and make this right for you. We will search for your contact info and be in touch very soon. We are eager to connect. Thank you!

Most difficult bank I have ever dealt with. I have accounts at several banks. None are as difficult as this institution. I own rental property out of state. One of my tenants sent his rent check early. The check arrived on May 30th. I took the check to the drive through window at the North Dixie branch in Elizabethtown to deposit it in my account. The teller refused to deposit the check because the tenant had dated the check for June 1. I told her to date the deposit for June 1 as other banks I deal with will do. She refused to accept the deposit and insisted that I return on Monday. She also insisted that I remove the mask I was wearing to protect against Covid-19, which put me in danger of catching the virus. I will, be pulling all money I have out of that institution and depositing it into another bank that is easier to deal with. I also am going to contact the branch manager and complain about this teller. Avoid this institution.

    Response from the owner

Mr. Cantrell, we are following up to your comment above. We have attempted to reach out to you and have left a message asking for you to return our call. After reviewing further, it appears you were using our Drive Thru ITM service, which is an automated machine with a camera and monitor, allowing you and the Abound Team Member to see one another virtually. The Abound Team Member is off site. In order to verify your identity, it was important for us to see your face through this camera lens, posing no risk of interaction with our Team Member. Please note, the situation with your post dated check is standard procedure, particularity with a personal check. We can explain all of this further when you call us back. We look forward to hearing from you. Thanks again!

I have been with them 5+ years but how they handle online transactions is just sad. My card gets blocked so I call they tell me they can't do anything over the phone then I have to call visa. Then I have to message them and describe to them where I want to make a purchase. Then I get no response for a couple days. I work nights and don't have time to stay awake to deal with this everytime I want to buy something online. Moving to Navy Federal this weekend.
